E. Pro Scout Players

Each week, participants will have the OPTION to "scout" (select) a "Pro Scout Player". A Pro Scout Player is a Pro Football player who has a salary range between 4 and 6 dollars that a manager believes will score 10 or more fantasy points in the selected week. The selected Pro Scout Player cannot be on the active roster of the participant's team. Participants cannot scout the same player twice. If the selected player scores 10 or more points for the week, the participant will get a 15 point bonus added to their overall weekly score for "being a good scout." If the selected player scores 9 or less points, the participant will have 5 points taken from their overall weekly score as a penalty for "being a bad scout." Participants DO NOT receive the Pro Scouts Players' fantasy points, only the bonus or penalty for being a "good or bad" scout. Pro Scout Players' salaries will be locked once they are selected and participants may add the previous week's Pro Scout Player to their roster at the salary they were "scouted" at. Pro Scout Players will be reset each week on Thursday's at 8am EST. If participants want to "pick-up" (add them to their roster at the scouted price), they must do so before the Pro Scout Players are reset on Thursday's at 8am EST. Dell Sports, Inc. will calculate their normal fantasy score for that week and add or subtract the appropriate amount to/from the participants overall weekly score. Only one player per week may be assigned the "Pro Scout Player" of the week. The Pro Scout Player is available for participants to change each week, every Thursday after 8am EST. Participants receive or have points subtracted to their overall weekly score based on the Pro Scout Player they selected for that week only Players are NOT required to "scout" (select) a Pro Scout Player each week.
F. Player Salaries
The Salary Cap will not change throughout the football season. However, player salaries will change. Player's salaries will change throughout the season. The demand for a particular player will dictate his salary. The greater the demand for a player, the more his salary will rise. If demand for a player decreases, then his salary will decrease. You need to watch the player salaries and look for bargains. Shopping for good deals takes a careful eye. When you pick up a player you retain his initial salary until you decide to "fire" him (release him from your team). If you later decide to pick up the same player, his salary may be different and you must "hire" him at his current salary. You will want to scan the Pro Player Pool often to review the player salaries. Often times, you might find a player on your roster has a lower market demand than what you paid for him initially (Meaning that his current salary is lower than the salary you got him at). If this happens, we recommend "firing" the player and then immediately "Hiring" him.. This move will save you a few "Dell Dollars".
G. "Free Agency" and "Lock-out" Periods
You can "hire" and "fire" players on an unlimited basis throughout the season during "Free Agency". The "Free Agency" period starts every Tuesday at noon (EST) and ends every Sunday at 1pm (EST). During "Free Agency" you are able to hire and fire as many players as you desire. The period of time between Sunday 1pm (EST) and Tuesday 12pm (EST) is referred to as the "Lock-out" period. During the "Lock-out" period, you may not hire or fire any player. All roster moves are prohibited during the "Lock-out" period. DOES HIRING AND FIRING APPLY GIVEN THAT ROSTERS MUST BE RECREATED EACH WEEK?]

H. Standings
There will be two pages for the different standings. One will be based upon the Cumulative Point Totals for all weekly games to date. The Second will be based on the Point Total for the current week. Updated standings will be available every Tuesday, unless unforeseen problems arise. [YOU NEED TO FIX THIS – ISN'T THIS CONTEST NOW BASED ON WEEKLY SCORES ONLY…NO CUMULATIVE?]
I. This contest will continue for 17 weeks of games. Each "week" in this contest will consist of all professional football games played in the United States that are part of the regular season from September 10, 2009 until January 3, 2010. A Contest Week is Tuesday – Monday as described above.

In the event that a potential weekly winner is disqualified for any reason, Station is not obligated to award a prize to any other entrant.

2009 Weekly Fantasy Football Challenge Rules

The Registration Process

Each participant must complete the registration process to become eligible to play. The registration is a simple process that involves age and email verification, contact information, team name creation, and password selection.

Once you create a member ID (your email address), choose a password, and select your team name, you will then be given the opportunity to fill out a roster of 8 position players and a team defense within the salary cap limits of 72 million dollars.

Playing The Game
In order to start the season, each player will have to create a roster in order to be eligible to play. You must "buy" each player/team defense with your remaining team salary (in millions of dollars). Each participant begins the season with 72 million dollars. This is their teams salary cap (budget). Each participant must build a roster consisting of one of the three following choices:

        Power-I formation

      • (1) Quarterback
      • (4) Running Backs
      • (2) Tight End
      • (1) Kicker
      • (1) Defense (1 team's defensive unit)

        Balanced formation

      • (1) Quarterback
      • (2) Running Backs
      • (3) Wide Receivers
      • (1) Tight End
      • (1) Kicker
      • (1) Defense (1 team's defensive unit)

        Shotgun formation

      • (1) Quarterback
      • (5) Wide Receivers
      • (1) Tight End
      • (1) Kicker
      • (1) Defense (1 team's defensive unit)

Participants can change their formation as often as they like during the times which trading is allowed. When a participant chooses a different formation, they are given the option to retain players from their previous roster formation. Hint-- Sometimes it is advantageous to keep players whose salaries are substantially lower then the current market rate for that player.

Participants are allowed to “buy” or “sell” players using the Pro Football Player Pool. This player pool represents the Pro Football players listed by their position. You can sort them by their salaries (highest salary to lowest, or vice versa) by clicking on the appropriate icon in the Pro player pool. Trading is free and unlimited.

Hiring and Firing Players

You can hire or fire your players by dragging the player on or off your team. To place a pro player on your team, simply drag the selected player you desire from the Pro Player Pool (located below your roster) and place them in an empty slot (of their correct position category) on your team roster. To remove a player from your team roster, simply drag that player back into the free agent pool below your roster. This will remove this player from your roster and place him into the Pro Player Pool. Your available salary will reflect any new changes.

The Pro Player Pool

On the Pro Player Pool, you will notice different player positions. Clicking on the hyperlinks to those positions will sort the database of players according to that position. The Pro Player Pool can be further sorted by their salary (highest to lowest, or visa-verse). Each player in the Pro Player Pool and on your roster has a blue hyperlink. Clicking this link will display the player's stats.

You will only be allowed to confirm (finalize) your roster once you have met the minimum roster requirements. All of this must be at or under the salary cap of 72 Million Dollars. You may now follow the same steps above whenever you wish to make more roster changes. However--You must click the "confirm changes" button after making your roster changes in order to make your changes final in our system."

Your changes will be reflected instantly if you have completed the changes before Sunday's games (1pm EST). See "Free Agency" and "Lock-out" Periods below.

The trading deadline is on every Sunday 1pm (EST). On occasions there are Thursday and Saturday games.
